Algae bloom remediation program with Biochar

A brief explanation of what Biochar is and how it cleans ponds, lakes, rivers, and reservoirs of algae blooms, heavy metals, and various chemical toxins

Biochar is a type of nano-carbon that is produced by heating organic matter in a low-oxygen environment. Our Biochar is produced from dead trees and has a surface area of 400-500 square meters per gram and has anionic and cationic qualities which allow it to easily bind to every substance it comes into contact with. Biochar has many applications in agriculture, forestry, and environmental management.

One of the benefits of Biochar is its ability to remove pollutants from water bodies, such as algae blooms, heavy metals, and other toxic chemicals. Biochar can act as a filter, adsorbent, or catalyst to capture and degrade these contaminants. For example, Biochar can reduce the excess nutrients that cause algae blooms by binding them to its surface or enhancing microbial activity. Biochar can also immobilize heavy metals and other toxic chemicals by forming complexes or altering their speciation. By applying Biochar to ponds, lakes, reservoirs, and rivers it is possible to substantially improve water quality and restore aquatic ecosystems.
